New platform

Speaking of the Darton 3800, I am pretty positive that the Lobo riser is the 3800 riser. Maybe the left overs that they are charging $1,300 for? The insert idea to add a pattern on the bow is sort of interesting, especially if it is rubber and helps silence the bow. I do not know if that will work out for them.

I will end up with the Ambush for sure. 4 to 5 pounds (2 pounds more) on my pack is not a concern of mine. My climber that was over 20 lbs was. I like the added room, Throw a versa strap on it and you are good to go. I just wish it landed closer to $225. I think that they would sell thousands of them at that price. Time will tell boys.

I haven't seen it officially, but I'm 99% sure it's a 3800 with their new cams and cables. I wouldn't pay retail, but I love my 3800 so much I'd consider one at 900 lol.

Because of their affiliation with Darton I would speculate it's the soft touch they used to offer on bows... I stripped it off of my 3800, it's useless.

That is what my guess was

Too big and heavy for who? You make it sound like some kind of massive consensus? It's not too big and heavy for a whole lot of people, as evidenced by the outlandish demand for the used Assassins.

His harness design isn't intended to mimic those currently on the market. I don't think it's for me either but there's more than one way to skin a cat as the saying goes.

Yes and there is a reason why they were taken off the market the last time.... They couldnt sale enough of them. I'm with Ken here that thing is dang near as heavy as a LW tree stand platform.... going to be a very small market.

Why do you think that is… because saddle hunters have Developed some light weight mobile gear

Dave I don’t think that’s the only reason. Guys just did not know about and if they heard of it they were not educated about it. Now there is YouTube that connects all kind of people that normally would never be in contact. The videos show the benefits and safety unlike before. Gets guys to cross over. Sure light weight gear is awesome but not everyone is chasing the lightest setup. But that’s just my opinion.

I don't think Tethered has to much to worry about. I think they'll cut more $$ out of the treestand business than the saddle hunting niche. WE could sell those buyers a 20 step set, And a small hand cart to get it all in the woods.

I’m not so sure social media has made it more mainstream, but what it has done for new saddle hunters is greatly reduce the learning curve when just starting. Without the aid of all the videos out there now, many in the past would give up when they couldn’t figure out many of the helpful tricks and go back to the traditional stand hunting. Keeping new people in a saddle greatly helps increase new member recruitment as they spread a positive word, rather than spreading....I tried it and didn’t like it type of message.
