He is correct. It will come with a 5 point arrest "saddle" very similar to the one received with the original assassin. Not sure where you're getting the information that it comes with a saddle?
I wear a 13 and the predator platform is perfect for me. Save yourself the 2lbs and extra $100.As a brand new saddle hunter, (just order my saddle on Dec 24), having different options for platforms has some good and bad. The good is we have a choice, the bad is we really don't know what will fit us or even how a platform feels. That said I still like having more options and for my size 14 feet and have to wonder if the extra width would help. Being brand new, this site is a tremendous resource and it's great to see more companies taking notice of saddle hunting!
He told me it was going to be minimized since they wouldn't pursue TMA this time. There wont be shoulder straps but he was still deciding whether to use leg straps or leave those off as well and just have a waist band. My guess is they'll keep leg straps. He is correct. Cool. He didnt mention the no shoulder straps but he did want to keep the bigger webbing. Anything can change though. He told me it was going to be minimized since they wouldn't pursue TMA this time. Bummer this guy didnt attend saddlepaloza or hang out here a bit to understand how us platform guys utilize them. I would of been all over something xop or slightly bigger that was 100% robust.
What? Seriously, I am not sure what your point is, before I guess and try to address it.
This new platform is just the old one with a new manufacturing technology. Same with his saddle. The old platform is nice, but too big and heavy. His saddle is not designed to hold any body weight, just keep you from falling to the ground and allowing you to lean a bit. Its like he didnt check the market for anything but potential new sales.
Too heavy for me... For others... we are all different. So yes there are lots of ways to skin a cat.Too big and heavy for who? You make it sound like some kind of massive consensus? It's not too big and heavy for a whole lot of people, as evidenced by the outlandish demand for the used Assassins.
His harness design isn't intended to mimic those currently on the market. I don't think it's for me either but there's more than one way to skin a cat as the saying goes.
Because of their affiliation with Darton I would speculate it's the soft touch they used to offer on bows... I stripped it off of my 3800, it's useless.Like the assassin, most of the extra weight is in the thickness in the platform. Things get heavy fast without cables.
It didn't feel slippery when wet. I wouldnt worry about that.
The coating wasnt durable. I could scratch it off. Edges were already showing good amount of wear after 3 days at ATA. I didnt see a lot of value add with the coating. I suspect they will try to improve but right now I would prefer a clean system.

How many people are using sticks to climb to a saddle? For those people, is this platform a problem? Probably not. It packs similarly or better, especially if you spring for the matching LWCG sticks. They're a well-matched package. My opinion was there wasnt anything commercially available for a long time and diy isnt for everyone. This is why those are in demand in my opinion. Now that the predator is available that will change, just has to get more widely known(advertised). It will still be small for some, but jumping up in size and weight(and cost) to the latest assassin is a big jump. Most of us I think its safe to say are looking to cut weight.

Get to a smaller platform and selling matching sticks gets tougher, pushing LWCG further outside of their core expertise and comfort zone. Could they offer a smaller platform and micro-sticks? Maybe but how small can you shrink a stick and have it make sense? And I think they really want to promote "packages". It's compact enough to stay within the shoulder profile which is a reasonable target for a large saddle platform, and it's just big enough to attach sticks to which simplifies stick hauling as well. It probably packs better with sticks than a predator does.
Of course a lot of the beauty of saddle hunting is that it can be so much more compact than that, and even short sticks can become the bulkiest thing you're carrying. But guys coming from standa may not have that initial perspective.
I prefer a more compact setup as well, but I see their thinking too. A better setup might be mounting to the platform post with a more compact overall profile - but as much as it's not quite what I'm currently looking for, I see the appeal more now than before thinking about it. I think I'd have taken the idea further though. As a person who uses his platform to haul sticks, I see your point. Its a no brainer for me, my platform has shoulder straps and I keep the post long to accommodate this feature. I think they could have worked closer with each other to mount the sticks up/down with say 14" button to button and made the platform smaller. Guess we will see where it goes.......If the seat is stronger than xop and offered separately......Ill probably look harder at that.
Speaking of the Darton 3800, I am pretty positive that the Lobo riser is the 3800 riser. Maybe the left overs that they are charging $1,300 for? The insert idea to add a pattern on the bow is sort of interesting, especially if it is rubber and helps silence the bow. I do not know if that will work out for them.Because of their affiliation with Darton I would speculate it's the soft touch they used to offer on bows... I stripped it off of my 3800, it's useless.
