I killed my first whitetail with a bow 42 years ago. I am now 60 and trying saddle hunting. I like trying new methods but it is also out of necessity. I hunt a area near my home in the rugged foothills of the Cumberland mountains in eastern middle Tn. my only access to the very steep ridge tops is to climb from the bottom so I haven’t been able to hunt the ridge tops with tree stands because of the difficulty getting up the steep slope,s. I have been using and practicing with a trophyline saddle for a month. It’s too late for this season but by next year I hope to have my system worked out and be able to hunt where I need to be at the right time of the season. I look forward to learning all I can from this forum. Thanks to all for the info and if any of you hunt a similar terrain please share any experience you think might help.
