New Tree Climbing Technique

Wow looks complicated. Might stick with my steps and stick. Lol. Not sure how I feel about practicing anything knowingly on a dead tree either.

takes a special kind of stupid, Darwin has a famous award for the winners...

He normally climbs ice falls. Which would be more dangerous, newly dead trees or unstable ice? I've seen people climb telephone poles. I am pretty sure they are dead.

I've sat in dead trees and IMO the danger comes from limbs breaking off and falling that are above u and shaken loose by your movements while in the tree. I almost got cracked last season in a dead pine. I was only 8ft off the ground but a limb at the top broke off while I was setting the platform and came down

Several years ago I found the perfect tree. Only problem it was dead. No leaves at all on the tree in the beginning of October. Good sense prevailed and placed my stand in a tree about 30 yards away. While hunting one day, I watched that tree fall by itself. No wind, nothing to indicate that it was going to go down. Thought to myself, I sure am glad I wasn't in that tree. Made a believer out of me. Aren't telephone poles trees that were cut while still alive and then made into the poles and then treated to be solid for years? Then placed something like 5-6 feet in the ground as well as secured with gravel? Dead trees to my very limited knowledge are an accident waiting to happen.
