New York Intel / Roll call

Seen two bucks cruising at last light yesterday so they're starting to get those funny feelings again... I'm in the Southeastern part of the state.

Had a couple little guys running the ladies around three days ago. Guess they're just trying to get some exercise? I'm in the Finger Lakes area.

This weather is definitely giving false feelings for sure. Seems like they should be on their feet like crazy, but..... its feast or fathom right now. Scrapes are opened up just about everywhere there is a over hanging branch. I saw 2 bucks and 3 does last night and every deer hit a scrape. My vacation starts at 10 am this morning so I will be hanging A LOT ! Will keep posting what I'm seeing over the next few weeks.

I don’t usually mind rain.... but when the temps are high 30’s I’d rather it just snow hahah. Yesterday and today have been lame sits! Last night I saw a small 6 cruising field edges and a creek bottom.

Cold hang this morning! Passed a solid 3 year old 8 10 mins after it got light, then 2 more smaller bucks following a doe would be all I would see this morning. Warming up and eating lunch and back at it, perfect conditions right now!

Crazy how dead the woods have been for me the last few days. I'm sure all the high winds didn't help, but man its been slow! Haven't seen a single deer this morning and with the temps warming up into the mid 60s for the next week I can't imagine it getting to much better. Hopefully I'm wrong.

I haven’t seen a thing this morning so far either.. I think even with the 30-60degree days we’ve got coming up, there could still be some good action. Last year I remember it being fifty degrees when I had a good one dogging a doe come past me. Unfortunately I misjudged and shot right under him, clean miss.

Been out a total of one day so far and haven't seen anything. Agree with high winds and warm temps.

I dont know about your guys areas, but by me in 4F acorns are everywhere. I have seen huge groups of deer hitting different oak flats. Sometimes up to ten deer. So i think either you are on them and see lots or you see nothing. Keep looking for them and you will find them. Especially with the bucks pushing does around now.

Well...... i put an arrow in a good deer yesterday morning at 6:56 am. Was not confident about the shot so I stayed in the tree for an hour and fifteen minutes after the shot. Got down and only saw a small amount of hair at the impact so backed out and gave the deer 5 1/2 hours before tracking, which was really hard since it's 72 degrees in western NY for some reason! Had very spotty blood for 250 yards( not good!) . Decided to back out again and try to get a dog to track, unfortunately being Nov 6th the trackers are way to busy. Whent back in and started grid searching, and ran that t dark with no results. Today went in with buddies and unfortunately raped my entire 200 acres in search of the deer with no results. Really sucks and hurts! In search of this deer I can say I have absolutely 100% never seen so many scrapes in my life and probably combined. There are scrapes in the middle of Harwoods and don't even have licking branches. Lots and lots of rubs also. That sucks loosing a deer. If you never found a bed and didn't bump him he very well may be ok.
And good news on all the scrapes and rubs. I dont think you will completely blow out a 200 acre property either.
