Hi all,

brand new to not only saddle hunting but hunting in general. Grew up in Baltimore city then moved up to NH 10 years ago only to find that there are deer all over the parcel of land right across the street.
I’ve already found tons of priceless tips and suggestions in here so thank you all.
Cruzr XC, Predator platform, 30” Hawk Heliums, PSE Embark, Black Eagle Zombie Slayers/SlickTrick Vipertrick100

thanks again and wish me luck. I’m going to need it,

Drew W

@Nohvah - Welcome from CT ! New Hampshire is a great state - and you're in a beautiful area - good luck this season. NH is a tough state for deer hunting in my experience, though @Razorbak66 may be able to help you up the learning curve locally. As a new hunter, don't be afraid to ask people questions here if the deer are schooling you. You're on their turf, and they've learned a few things about staying alive. Are you primarily hunting private or public land?

I agree NH is one of the hardest places I have hunted. There are deer but access is hard unless you like to swamp dive all the time

Welcome from Massachusetts (Amesbury). Grew up in Kentucky, lived a decade in Alaska. The northeast is a shock to the system....so much 'off limits' between town bylaws, posted land. Ha! At @Razorbak66 I've been hunting around a local swamp this season. Only place I could get permission.

Thanks! I have been reading and watching a ton this summer to prepare and I know it’s going to take years to get real field experience. Really appreciate the support already and will definitely be picking your brains!

Hoping the NH difficulty isn’t TOO hard to overcome. I do know that the parcel I can walk to has already had 1 tag filled in there. Reducing odds for me, but for the next few weeks I’m happy to just get up and set in the saddle to practice.

Welcome from Texas and I hope you like your XC as much as I do. I can sit in that bad boy all day with zero issues. Good luck!
