NHL 2021

I was at the Joe in 2012 Red wings were down 3-2 in the series to San Jose. 3rd period wings score to to take the lead 2-1. I never heard something so loud. I was cheering as loud as I could. But could not hear my self. The whole stadium was shaking. It was an awesome night. Then they went back to SJ and pooped the bed. What a great night. Still remember that game.
Does ESPN still do the playoff bracket Challenge? We should set up a SH bracket pick em.
I was at Harper's in East Lansing that same night! The Darren Helm empty net goal, the bar exploded. I was hugging people I didn't know, high fives all around. Man I miss the playoffs, there was nothing like watching a playoff game at the Joe. I actually bought a seat from the old barn before the demolished it. Awesome place to just drink beer, eat a hot dog, and watch some hockey without any frills.

Sharks fan struggling through the year...

I'm a hockey fan in general. I live in MN so always want the wild to do good but I don't hold to one team. I like all the games. This year Toronto has caught my eye as I used to play with Justin Holl's beother. Great family.

Agree. I can sit down and watch any hockey game. Not that it's ever on antenna TV. NBC has a Sunday game every now and then. If I find my self watching TV I get locked in. But that is few and far between. I refuse to pay for Television and no hyper speed internet at my house.

I'm with ya man. I've always been an Ovechkin fan so it's nice to be able to watch the Capitals games a little more regularly than most seasons.

Especially when the Wild decide to tank like the last two games. Argh classic Minnesota sports.

Anyone watching? Who is your team? My hometown is Pittsburgh so take a guess.

Last year I had tickets to see the Caps @ Pens on March 7...I think, might have been 14. Anyway the Wednesday before the Blue Jackets were the first team to cancel because of Covid. Then everything was going down. Took me several months to get my money back but I would have rather seen the game. I did get to a game in Dec 2019 when the Coyotes came to town. Got to sit right behind the Pens bench and see the return of Kessel.
Naturally Pittsburgh! But after that game last night I'm still scratching my head. I dunno what to think this season..... Malkin sure is in a slump.....

Yeah, I'm always watching. I've been a Wings fan my whole life, from the Dead Things years in the 70's and 80's, the successes and now the PAINFUL rebuild years. In fact I'm watching the Wings get smoked by the Jackets as I type this. Still love watching the game though. It's probably the only major sport I still follow.
A true fan! Watching no matter what!

Being a Wings fan that lives in Toronto has been a tough pill to swallow this year. If I have to watch one more game of the Leafs vs some team that should be relegated to the the OHL next year I might just go insane.

***!! DUDE!
Finally the Leafs are looking really solid, and the first thing you do is squat and drop all over them? No way you are a real Canadian.

LOL Don Cherry is in his car as we speak with a pair of scissors ready to cut my SIN card in half.

All kidding aside its really hard to evaluate this team right now. I don't really see much change from last year. They still have some insane meltdowns in front of their own net. And when a team like the Canadians plays shut down hockey, and Price can actually stop the puck, the Leafs are at a loss. Winning 6-2 is nice but I feel like they are just reinforcing bad habits right now. This team is built to win the Presidents Trophy but not to win in the first round of the playoffs.

While I'm 100% content with having a season, this season isnt one that should be judged as a defining the team season. The limited schedule, small sight picture as far as cross conference or even division play is shaping this to be more of an exhibition than a real test of team capability. I mean were half way through the season and the pens have seen maybe 5 teams. The biggest test for teams, IMHO is not the back to back games but the match ups of teams that are doing well in their divisions but normally dont see each other. How well teams respond combined with how well they do in those long stretches can give a good picture of the playoff strength! So I'm happy to be watching but I'm looking foward to getting back to a full season schedule!!

Ottawa resident and Sens fan here. Has been a sad few years but I have some hope for the future based on our prospect pool. Letting Mark Stone go was the worst decision we could have made. I am just hoping for the day to come when Melnyk sells the team.

Bruins fan. Last year was their year until they slammed into the covid brick wall. They were not the same team when they came back not to mention that they lost their starting goalie. This year they are running hot and cold so time will tell if they can put it together when it counts.

Wild are looking good for now. Really enjoying watching them.

I don't watch a lot of non-Penguins games because the NHL can't get out of their own way in the quest to make the game as boring as they possibly can, but I may be adding Kaprizov to the short list of players I'll tune in to watch. Dude has some skills.
