The more I have inspected mine, the less I like it, and I’m at the point of sending it all back. When I sit down in the Scrape jacket, the belly portion balloons up and out to the point of discomfort and being in the way. Even more importantly, though, I found that it’s just not all that warm... I sat in it for a couple hours yesterday while working on the computer, and I didn’t even get a little bit hot despite my house being a comfortable 71 degrees. I appreciate versatility, but I just can’t believe I’d be comfortable in that jacket in the 20’s-40’s if I can wear it fully zipped up without overheating at 71 degrees. That’s the deal-breaker for me. Think I’ll be saving up for one of the top tier brands, hoping the price bump is justified by the substantial quality improvement. Oh well. Can’t say I was impressed by the scrape set. I think it’s worth the value at 50% off. The stitching isn’t great and it over all doesn’t seem to be of high quality.
I’m torn between keeping it or not. I’m more of the mentality of buy once, cry once. I don’t want to take this out later in the fall and be let down.
Overall, they’re not bad pieces, but not the quality that I want to invest in.
Funny you say that... I’d pretty well talked myself into sending the Scrape jacket back, then I put my RedHead heavyweight (emphasis on freakin’ heavy!) jacket on for a final comparison, and now I’m second-guessing because the Scrape jacket really is a substantial upgrade from that. Now I’m leaning toward keeping it, but thankfully I have some time to figure it out.Just got my scrape bibs and jacket in the mail. It definitely doesn’t seem to be as warm as I expected, but I’ll be keeping both. I don’t think I would pay full price but at 50% off I am pretty happy with it. I’ve never had any high end camo so I can’t really compare the difference in quality, but it seems better than the Redhead stuff I’ve been running.
