Hey guys

I first heard about saddle hunting back in december and still have yet to pull the trigger on purchasing one, I think ill be getting a full tetherd rig soon to prep for the upcoming season. Anyone in the Howard County/Ellicott City, MD area? Im interested in getting down to Virginia too this season. If anyone saddle hunts in the area and has any advice bowhunting in the area or going in on a lease together etc, please hit me up! Im always looking for archery stuff to get into in general.
 
Welcome to the site, I’m about 25-30 mins from you. I’m on the north east side of the beltway , let me know if you want to check anything out before you get setup. I have a sz2 kite & a jx3 . Btw there is a lot of good hunting less than 45 mins from you

Depending where your at in the area, I'm no more than 10 minutes from you. I might be able to look out my window and see you.
I don't do leases but i have been hunting exclusively from a saddle for 13 years. I have enough junk for you to test out... hit me up

Thanks for the offer. I’d definitely like to meet up soon and definitely interested in a meetup this way if happens in the future.

Met up with @Adrena123 and @Stan4694 earlier and my eyes were opened to the world of saddle hunting. Great dudes and couldn’t have been more generous with their time. Definitely picking one up!

Welcome! You've got some decent public around you. It all gets hit hard but it's a good testing ground. If you want to get out and have a chance of being alone for a day W. MD is really good.
 
I guess the hunting is not to bad. Not a lot of public land but if you can get permission to hunt a couple of farms/private you will have it made! Personally I hate Maryland and I can’t wait to move back to NJ. Very expensive living here. Traffic sucks and I have never experienced flooding like I have seen here. Especially Ellicott city. Be careful.
 
Lived in Elliott city for a few years. Then pikesville. Now farther north. I’m waiting on my predator/mantis order to ship but I’ve hit public pretty hard the last few years. You’re in a good spot. Lots of good deer within an hour drive. I’ve done the knocking doors thing. In my opinion it’s easier to walk a couple miles and drag a couple more on public than it is to get some permission but maybe I just had some bad luck. Fell free to PM me if you’d like.
