Not hunting anymore

Time to send the wife on her way. Enuff of that...
Hunting camp for deer is a big deal here. Annual weekend after Thanksgiving tradition, people come from all over starting Saturday (now Friday) and stay until Tuesday. He would get to camp and she would start hitting his cell an hour later busting his chops. If he didn't answer his cell, she'd call the emergency land line. EVERY SINGLE YEAR. This year she finally got him to leave camp. I used to feel bad for him, not anymore though.

That’s ridiculous. I would guess there’s more problems going on there than just deer camp.

Thank God the future wife knows that I will hunt and fish whenever I want and that certain dates I'll be out in the woods no questions asked. It also helps that she hunts and fishes too, but honestly I'd end a relationship before I put up with some of the static I've heard on this thread about wives or I've seen with some hunting buddies I know.

I quit for about 5 years because I had one daughter playing college volleyball and the younger daughter playing high school and national travel volleyball. There was hardly ever a free weekend during the Fall and if there was, I didn’t feel like leaving the house due to exhaustion.

Also had a bad ankle injury thrown in there a couple of years before that curtailed my ability to get in the woods.

Empty nesters now and got to hunt quite a bit this Fall. It only took about 5 minutes in the saddle on my first sit this season for the fire and joy to come rushing back.
