I’m pretty sure that’s what they used during the research and development of the platform. You should be good.It looks like I can get the lone wolf replacement strap for about $10. Anyone see why this wouldnt work?

Should work great. I've never had a problem with my lone wolf straps....well I shouldn't say that. The original strap that came with my lone wolf was made of a really slippery webbing. I had issues with that slipping, but they've since changed the webbing. Good straps. It looks like I can get the lone wolf replacement strap for about $10. Anyone see why this wouldnt work?
I guess some people don't know when your kidding. That's what LOL MEANS. I wasn't trying to offend anyone . Have a nice day.How is guys trying to work out there system to be as safe and efficient as they can a sign of impatience. Maybe you’ve been saddle hunting for years and don’t need extra practice with your gear to build confidence in your system but some guys do. I haven’t put mine on a tree yet either but did look it over very closely to see if I could keep my strap from becoming frayed like others in the pictures posted above.
I’m very new to this style of hunting and a lot of the people who have joined lately are also. Maybe the patients should be to let new guys get familiar with their gear and ask questions or post concerns as opposed to somewhat belittling them for it. Just my opinion

That may fix the snagging issue but in what way might that compromise the buckle? I think some pieces of equipment can be modified safely. I would not recommend doing this for the simple fact of IF something were to happen its on you for changing equipment from the way it was designed. I dont know for sure but my guess is that the buckle was used with a certain type of webbing or whatever that material is. It can be used with others but as we are seeing it is snagging and tearing them apart(not sure tearing apart is the best term so dont bash me for that). Also @flinginairos, are you speaking on behalf of tethrd when you say to bend the spring? I know you have done some videos for them and I am sure you have inside information but am I covered by tethrd if I do that and something happens?Guys, if you can get ahold of the tip of that spring and bend it out it should fix the snagging issue. The lone wolf strap is pretty much exactly the same and works fine if you’re not comfortable modding the spring on your current strap.

No problem I would never discourage anyone from getting use to their new equipment. Safety is top priority. Yes I have hunted out of a saddle for a longtime but I'm also new to this style of platform. What all SaddleHunters that have been doing it for awhile is make sure we don't take things for granted as far as safety is concern. No worries I can Lol with you or at you. Can’t never tell through text.
I would feel safe recommending that mod. You have to understand what the spring does it only puts enough tension on the cam buckle for the teeth to start to grip the strap. Once it is loaded you could remove the spring and it wouldn’t slip. If you damaged the spring worst case scenario you tighten the strap then when you try to cam it over the strap just pulls through. It wouldn’t get tight making the platform unusable but once it tightens up it’s tight. That may fix the snagging issue but in what way might that compromise the buckle? Sorry for the late reply, Twiggs and Wilkenson Counties is where I head up.Where are you in Georgia??
I think what I’d expect from tethrd at this point would be a response on this topic. I’d hope they would be working on replacements and offer to exchange the straps. They obviously are the problem. Or they can wait till guys have seriously frayed straps they can’t use and then replace them. I get it. Starting a business isn’t easy. There learning as they go. They have my full support. Just putting this out there. You will have a lot of guys buying this platform that do not frequent this site. Guys that are not comfortable with modifying there gear. Product failure leads to bad reviews. I want these guys to succeed. I hope they address it, not by telling us to try to bend a piece of gear but by standing behind there product and offering a replacement. For guys that think bending the spring is ok....bend it and keep it. For guys that want it to function as it should and do not want to mod it offer a replacement.
I will also say this. Any concern I have had has been addressed. I think the beginnings of a business like this can be tough. This may be why others have failed. I do think tethrd is doing more than creating a business. There building a brand. I hope they overcome these hurdles and succeed.
Oh, okay. I've got both books, but just didn't remember that part. Great books, aren't they?In the Complete Guide to Hunting, etc books. He has an excerpt in there on tree stands by a different guy who mentions loving saddles... that sent me down a road.
Thanks. Makes sense. I dont have mine yet so I was just trying to visualize this piece of equipment. Im sure once I get it I will see exactly what you are talking about.I would feel safe recommending that mod. Thanks @WHW for the heads up. I'm waiting on mine to arrive with some other trinkets.Just received my Predator today and wasn't disappointed. It's the missing piece of the puzzle for me as a saddlehunter. But, like you, my platform either squeaked or popped every time I shifted my weight or moved in any kind of way. I tightened the bolt, loosened the strap, tried different trees, but nothing I did would stop it form making that sound. So, I decided to try some lubrication on the bushings. I figured the best thing that I had available was the chain lube that I use on my dual sport motorcycle and it worked. After a few squirts it's totally silent. WD-40 might have worked but I know what I used will.
Hey I bet it is the light weight giuys making em squeak. Not able to compress the bushings.
Uh,oh! 260#!!!! Will confirm when I get mine.I'm 238. I was thinking maybe it was a big guy problem. Haha

@Erniepower By loosening the post bolt, does it make it sloppy or put undue stress on the bracket or elsewhere?I loosened my post bolt to get it to quit squeaking. Very pleased with the platform half of Tethrd. Can’t wait to try the other half!
Should work like a charm. It looks like I can get the lone wolf replacement strap for about $10. Anyone see why this wouldnt work?
