Official vest thread

Pnuma vest lasts 4 hrs on medium. It’s awesome
Hope so! I have a Milwaukee heated hoodie that I like, especially since I can run it nearly all day on an 18v battery, but I don’t like the sleeve cuffs on it since they are tight and chaff my wrists by the end of the day. (Even considered cutting the sleeves off but have not done so yet!)

I have a Browning Hells Canyon soft shell vest I wear a lot. I also have a vintage Millet 900 fill down vest that's crazy warm. Almost two warm for most of the year.

Wait.. so now I have to add a wool vest to my arsenal? Peer pressure is building.....
I wouldn’t….wool is good for next to skin due to its wicking properties, and for retaining heat when wet, but it is not a very good mid layer or insulating piece, as indicated by its low CLO value.

I have a Cabelas berber vest. It works really well. Is now unobtainium.

Good reminder! I have a Cabelas Outfitter berber fleece vest with windhear that is a size too small for me and only worn a couple of times unzipped. Also have the jacket in a larger size that is perfect. May need to put this vest up in the classifieds!

Yup, that’s the one. Very nice vest.

I've got a stack of Big Bill wool pants, and saw that they have this on their website:

I mostly run puffy "down" vests as a packable mid layer. Since they're under my shell, color and pockets are irrelevant. My cheapo from Menards holds its loft better than actual down. But, I might need to invest in a proper wool vest, like a grown-up.

I really hike hunting with a vest but I dislike the average length of most vests while wearing a saddle.

Wonder if the make a halter top vest, in First Lite Spectre, sized for a small beer gut.

I thought hard about getting this vest but the price was too much for me. I love the design and cut. If someone would take this and make it windproof, have camo options and solids, and keep it quiet and warm it would be a winner for saddle guys.

Have you considered this vest? Doesn’t have the plate carrier, and isn’t wind proof…

yeah lol...I have it and it's warm and very comfortable. As much as I hate to say it, I want their technical woobie now too. Even though it's $350 but that's how much I like the vest.

I have some Primaloft gold laying around. I'm going to make one that is windproof puffy style with a soft ripstop material. I'll have time on Thursday and Friday to get it done. It will be collarless though because I hate collars.

I'm also debating using fleece paired with a windproof ripstop liner.

I also have the Sitka fanatic vest, which I really like but it is heavy and not very packable. After getting into pack in hunting, I've discovered the benefits of lightweight, warm, and packable gear.

Natural gear also makes a windproof vest, actually they make a couple flavors of vests. Their winterceptor is sold out right now but it’s absolutely money. Get one when they get back in stock.

I liked the looks of this vest and was waiting for it to come back in stock, up until I beat you to @Bwhana unobtanium vest. (Too soon? :) )

A good vest is almost as good as a good Women. A vest to me is a must have. I have a old filson wool vest, a Sitka stratus, useless, and a LL Bean primaloft gold vest, which I love except for the collar.

Cabelas Berber Fleece vest is what I have. I wear it more as a everyday winter layer and less as a hunting layer to be honest

I also have the Cabelas Berber bibs and jacket I might put in the classifieds. The warmth of that stuff is amazing
