Ive been using a version of these for a loooong time.
I love 'em!
I use catwalk grating and chain. Weather proof, squirrel proof, can pad lock on the tree, never slippy when wet or icy, mud and other debris falls thru the grating, and light passes thru them so there is no silhouette seen from below.
Not light weight, but bombproof and great for presets.
We made 14 more last winter.
Ive also used car seat belts instead of chain. Its lighter, quieter to set up and adjusts easily but its not squirrel or theft proof.
