Just like the title says, for those of you that one stick, did you buy a one stick like the EWO ultimate one stick with a larger platform and also hunt off of it? Or do you carry a separate platform to set up at height to hunt from?

I know there's a few no stickers who use the platform or two tethers to climb, targeting just the people that chose to one stick for this question.

Last year I one sticked and used a predator at HH. I would position the top steps of my Muddy Pro level with my predator to have more room to "tree-walk" per say. Typically on my strong side so I could move around the tree and shoot at my weak side area without being exposed. I found it to be a P.I.T.A. carrying both when I had camera gear to boot so I dropped the stick and am no sticking this year.

Back to OP though, I always had a platform and a one sticking setup. I forgot my platform one day and told myself never again would I stand on a stick for 4-5 hrs.

Do you have a thread on how you have your predator set up for no stick?

I have a thread but I don't have any updated photos on it. I will try to get new ones uploaded tonight if I have time. I used webbing and buckles from @DanO to make a single step aider attached to the platform using the buckles instead of knots so it's cleaner. I love it. Next move is to make a new post with a cam cleat instead of using the cast button and cam strap.

Stick to platform is the plan. I tried no sticking with just a platform but found it was easier doing it with a 1.5 lb stick rather than a 3-4 lbs platform. Some guys dont mind it but since I decided to go with a bigger platform, a light one stick made more sense. Saving up for a Shikar mini!

This guy basic is the same for most platforms.

I one-sticked last year and plan to do it again this year - although I'm adding SRT for larger diameter trees.
I place a RoS above my last stick position. Really like the weight and access of RoS and ability to setup on a different side from the one I climb, if needed.

I wish I was a headlight on a north-bound train

I have one stick with a platform and one without just depends on the terrain I am hunting.

I climbed one stick with a cut down hawk helium last year. Every time I got to hunting height I strapped on the predator platform and took my stick off the tree. This year I plan to try just the stick and new to me hawk hsp stick platform.

Last year I bought a stick-mounted Scout to try, thinking I would hate it (so why did I buy it?). I ended up liking it so much I only used my Predator once or twice all season, the Scout even worked well for all-day stands. This year I am switching over to either a Monarch or an Ultimate Platform as they are much easier to turn around on for the drop shot.

I've got a Predator XL I'm going to use when I'm at height. Going to convert my beast stick to a one-stick for this year, think that's going to be the cheapest way to go for the time being.

My plan is to use a Diy one stick , with the way my stick is made it doesn't really need a platform. I have done many sets behind my house for a few hours at a time and had no issues with my legs or feet hurting. I have actually fell asleep a few times.

Last year I 1 sticked and used a mission at height. This year I will be 1 sticking with a U.P. platform on top or no sticking using my mission platform. Still debating on adding steps to my setup.

Last year I used an OOAL Solo Scout and one sticked with a stealth stripped muddy pro, a CT Climbing rated loop as an aider with a zip tie mod from @SloMo and a castration band to keep the simple loop aider on the bottom step. It worked great but early in the season I couldn't get around enough to make a shot at a nice whopper at my 5 o'clock so I incorporated two old Ameristep Plastic steps vet wrapped to each side of the Solo Scout.

This year I have also invested in a EWO Ultimate One Stick with a two step aider and a UP Platform. I purchased the Ultimaider and got a EDP on a trade here so I may be experimenting with that more too. My go to will be the EWO one stick with the UP Platform though. I'm thinking that platform will eliminate the need for the two Ameristeps. Not completely sure as the tree lean angle has a bearing on that I've found too.
