One Sticking - Single Sticking

I do almost the same thing. The only difference is I made a homemade pole out of some PVC and use the bolts that came with my toddler’s work bench. They are lighter and I feel just as safe with them, even though they are out of spec. That also allows me to avoid ordering any shadow strips or fat tape from O’Dan.

Hey, if they can withstand toddler forces. My understanding is those things are built to last, rated to an industry standard .02kN.

You DIYers are always undercutting my goldmine business ideas. I hate this forum....never have to contest with such innovation over at privatelandboxblindhunter.com.

Seriously?? Now I have to go register another domain name. (Edit: too late)

One sticking, that's like the pole vaulter thingy right? Just run up to the tree with your one stick and vault up to your desired height? I could see knee pads being helpful and possibly a helmet. Those poles are fairly light, right?

Ask @bj139
I think he made a thread one time called something like "Electrical Conduit Pole Vaulter Success."

If you thought climbing a tree made you feel you feel young again..... just pile leaves up at the bottom of the tree and jump at the end of the hunt. It’s called no rope rappelling. Super light packing in. Not quiet at the end. Very fast descent.

Works great when you finish your hunt and go to descend only to discover your EWO rappelling kit water bottle pouch contains....wait for it....your water bottle.

If you are having this problem often, you can easily fit a pint can or flask in there to ease the pain of your absentmindedness.

I love that site! The DIY thread over there is epic. That’s where I learned to always carry a vanity mirror with me. I hook to my OSHYT strap and it keeps my six clear of deer.

I've been on this site a lot recently only because I got banned from privatelandboxblindhunter.com when they found out all my box blinds are on public land.

I frequently one stick up to my ladder stand platform.

You can also get an extra 15" of height using one stick above your ladder stand. To shed bulk and be a mobile hunter, I recommend a scout platform when doing this. JX3 is a good option too, because it offers twice the comfort of any ladder stand, with its infinite adjustability.

I know it seems unnecessarily complicated to the guys that are hanging ladder stands 15" off the ground and using an aider to climb up to the first ladder rung, but I like the adrenaline rush of sticking at height with my linemans belt hanging at ankle height.

Hawk tree seat is wobbly. I'm going to buy new tree brackets, add another strap, and possibly buy a new post. I'll post pics once sponge painted.

I did that already. Only works when you add the bracket, strap, post, and seat from the LWCG .5. Hey, it's a cheap fix I anticipate will be very popular with the DIY gang here.

Yeah that’s a no no over there. It’s like when someone here says they use a climber on private land. It’s really offensive.

They are pretty hard to offend over at saddleicefisherman.com. And no members fees to post used saddles on classifieds.

Not to derail this thread, again....

But I've been experimenting with using one WEI as my platform. Super comfy. If you one-step with it, you can eliminate one sticking entirely.

Do you employ the no-rope mod, too?

I just ordered a pair of Wolverine hands/gloves. I ordered them from Alibaba, says they are titanium blades. Obviusly I will just claw my way up the tree to hunting height. When hunting private land I will just dig in the tips and slide down the tree. When on public I'm thinking I will still have to rappel as I don't want to give away my best spots by leaving claw marks running vertically down the tree. Although that might scare the bejesus out of guys thinking a yeti is living in the area and they abandon it all together. Feel totaly confident in this method. If it works as anticipated I think I will go for the injections and get the real deal. Then I can just jump out of the tree when done. Second thought I won't even need a weapon anymore....
