I got my new stick with the 5/8 mini button. It doesn’t have another loop like a versa button. How do you secure it.

Another loop? I am not sure what you mean. I always just tie 2 half hitches.
 
I think you just secure it using the binding of the two webbing pieces snugged down in the button correct?

use the strap and do the same thing as shown in the rope-mod video.
 
Nutterbuster made a good video, lonewolf custom has a video on their site under the climbing sticks
