The UPS stopped by a few days earlier than scheduled- that’s always nice.

The Slick Rick is very similar to the Bog BOB, but the bottom platform articulates now, to let the stick fold and pack flat.

There is a pin that holds the bottom platform in place. It didn’t have any sort of tether on it, and I know me and I would lose that pin the first chance I got, so I added a tether with some shock cord.

I also added some shock cord to pack up the aider nice and tight.

That packability looks awesome! Do you think the pin is necessary or could it be used without?

I don’t think the pin is necessary when weight is on the platform, but when you reach down to pull up the stick, the bottom platform could rotate a little, just as the top platform may. At most, it might be a nuisance, but I don’t think it’s an issue at all.

What’s the weight on yours with aider and everything?

What’s the weight on yours with aider and everything?

I have a full bury 1/4” 8 foot Amsteel rope finished with a bungee, and with that and the aider, both of my LCA scales show it at 5.1 pounds.

The EWO One Stick weighs 3.9lbs.

I could really care less about shaving a pound or two here and there though. If it’s the right gear, it is what is. I will never sacrifice saving weight for having what works best and what I prefer the most.
