My rappel line is my tether. I use a Safegaurd on it. You can us Beal Jammy ( I can personally say this one does work just fine), or the beal cordage (link below) that @DanO sells. Sterling 6mm TRC (@DanO sells also) may work as well but I have not tried it personally.You and @Ontariofarmer seem to be the only people I can find using ultra-tech. Could you tell me what Accessory Cord you use for your hitches if you use it for your LB and Tree Tether as well as your rappel? Thanks!
For my lineman's belt I use Sterling 6mm TRC for the line and then make a hitch out of 1/8" Amsteel. I create a locked brummel eye on each end and the burys come and meet in the middle from each end. I then take that piece of Amsteel with the eyes on each end and create a distel hitch on the 6mm TRC, works like a charm and really compact system as a whole. Not suggesting anyone do this, just stating what I use. I've done the math and know the risk, my choice.
