I think the issue with the stealth steps is that the strap is run through the plastic too close to the tree, allowing more leverage, because weight is placed further from the anchor point. My intent with these is to anchor them further from the base of the material in contact with the tree. This way you get the same pressure from the ratchet to hold the "step" to the tree, without it having so much ability to flex.
