1st report:
Saturday evening, myself and a buddy were set up on an oak flat on public ground.
We were both running Ozonics.
We had hunted the morning, gotten lunch, and scouted a fair amount.
He sprayed down with scent killer spray, I didn’t, and we both wore the same clothes all day.
We were 43 yards apart.
We were both 20-25 ft high.
Wind was 5-8 mph NE, so, it was shifting constantly.
From 6:05-8:00 we were literally surrounded, on all sides by deer.
I had a 7 pointer and a 3 pointer under me, eating acorns.
Both small bucks ate acorns 360 degrees around me, within 15 yards.
My buddy had 10+ deer within 40 yards, downhill.
He killed a doe at 30 yards.
The bucks under me, would toss their heads up occasionally, and go back to eating, unalarmed.
Did they smell the ozone? Yes.
Did they smell me, I don’t think so.
It’s the first time, I’ve ever had two guys hunting that close, with deer in so many directions, and never got busted.
So far, I’m impressed.
I’ll keep playing with it.
