Just wondering from guys who've used the phantom if it is more comfortable than the mantis? I owned and was pleased with the quality of the mantis, it felt really safe but it always seemed to ride up no matter how I had it or my ropes adjusted. Just looking for feedback before buying again.

Ive never tried mantis but can tell ya the phantom is very comfortable. The adjustability is nice.

Never sat in a Mantis, but used a great custom saddle all last season! Got a Phantom, the difference in the amount of material at each end, where the two straps form the bridge loops (Phantom is narrower) put less pressure on my hips. Not necessarily hip pinch, just pressure points. I'm 5-9, 170 with 33 waist. I like it. But .. It's off season and I've only sat maybe an hour in it. Initial review-love it. It's not huge like a hammock for your butt, but comfortable. Think you'll like it! It won't last long if you decide you sell!

I own both (sold the mantis), same opinions as you with the mantis but the phantom is a step better all around. I highly recommend giving one a try. Find someone near you and take a sit in one if you can. I can almost guarantee you'll buy it after that.

Started out with the mantis, sent it back within the week and ordered a kestrel flex. Big difference in comfort there. Then, at Dixie Deer Classic, visited the Tethrd booth and tried out the Phantom. Huge improvement compared to the Mantis and so much more comfortable. However, still like the Kestrel better.

@Fla Boy I had a mantis, it wouldn't stop riding up. it became very uncomfortable. I sold it. I bought a different saddle. I recently tried a phantom that a friend has. WOW, huge difference. the phantom is 10x more comfortable than the mantis was. It cups well, and most importantly, it stays put. you won't be disappointed if you pull the trigger on one.

Used a Mantis for two seasons and never had a problem with comfort, a buddy let me try his Phantom..... I bought one! It's more comfortable and it has many well thought out improvements over the Mantis.

I never tried the mantis but from the reviews i seen people always compained about the hip pinch. I own the tetherd phantom saddle and areo kestral flex. The phantom is comfortable but i would highly recommend getting the back strap it makes a big difference. $ 29.00
