Does the phantom "ride up" like the mantis was rumored to (I didn't own one). Could be my final factor in deciding between the phantom and kestrel flex.

I agree. The"cup" keeps it right in place. If it does, you can adjust the comfort channels to put a bit more pressure in the bottom.
