I have an XL for the longer hunts it's more comfortable for me and I shoot better standing up then I do off of my single stick. Haven't used mission. But it looks a tad bigger. The xl has enough room for my size 13s to stand and turn around.

I would also take a look at the RRXL. Maybe a hair heavier than what you mentioned but it’s like a small tree stand platform without a seat. So you can stand on it like a tree stand and shoot. The reason the RRXL also interests me over some other larger ones on the market is that it seems to put more emphasis on length with still a reasonable amount width, instead of the opposite- a lot of width and not so much length. Still trying to talk myself out of buying one.

Those are both nice choices.

The LWCG .5 is more like a stand, lol.

And yes, RRXL, is a large platform too.

I have a mission. Sold platform. I usually have my heals off, so enjoy the width more than the depth. But Often times you can save 10% on it or more. If your not in a hurry. The ambush is another option.

10% off OOAL right now.

And in Classifieds, who knows what kind of bargains may be had on any of these premium offerings.

I’m trying to talk myself out of it as well. Mainly to see what comes out this year. With the setup I’m thinking about running next year I may be OOAL exclusive. Ridge runner XL then Shikar minis and a Stick mounted Scout for the quick hunts.

Nice. Sounds like a nice collection. I keep moving more and more toward OOAL too. I’ve always had something of theirs. Also waiting to see what else comes out too. Always curious about that.

Sadly it’s not a collection. It’s a aspiration. I don’t have any of it. Just seems like I’ve been looking more into OOAL too. They offer a ton of awesome stuff. Really wish I knew someone else who used the Shikars minis to climb. Only guy Ik who uses them for more than just one sticking is the guy from BackWoods Mobil Gear.

Oh yeah. I know how that goes. I’m in the same boat too. Really trying to get picky with what I buy and what I don’t. It’s just taking too much of my money year after year. They do have awesome stuff and just keeps getting better I think. I was real close to trying the shikars but never sealed the deal on them. I already got the beast sticks by that point and haven’t been able to let them go yet.

I have the original OOAL Ridge Runner platform and I agree with @phatkaw its plenty big. Good product. I also like their Solo Scout with two old ameristeps on each side of it on the buckle strap. All last year; however, I used the EWO one stick with the UP platform.

To my knowledge, the Ambush is the largest platform made. Pros- It folds nice and flat. Doesn't weigh that much. Cons- doesn't cam well, doesn't work well on really large tree's. The Mission has that goofy bump on the bottom of it. It doesn't lay flat on your back or your side. Plus it weighs more. However it cams really well into the tree. Platform is almost as large as the Ambush.

I use the predator XL for some hunts but mostly use my Sh1kar one stick with a monarch platform on top and scout platform in place of the typical bottom received_396910298939128.jpegstep.
I can stay all day just using the monarch. I am going to experiment with adding a couple of bulman steps at the same height

I was in the same boat as you as far as so used to using a tree stand. I went through a couple different platforms and have settled on the lone wolf custom gear ambush platform I really like it it works well for my needs.

Lone wolf Alpha folding leg stand.
Plenty big enough. I can stand with my back to the tree should I want to. And I don't mean pressing myself to the tree, no need for that.
My stand is heavier than production ones but not by much.
I sold my ambush in short order.
The mission is the one I would try if I didn't have this.

Trying to picture the folding leg thing on your alpha. You have a photo?
