I have been going back and forth between my platform and ring of steps this season. The ROS isn’t very comfortable and it takes me a little too long to setup. The ocb always seems to work it’s self loose. Platform is nice but the 360 is a little difficult to achieve.

The other day I remember seeing they made slotted squirrel steps. So I figured why not. I was in the tree for about 5 hours and it worked well. I may add another step on the opposite side of my platform.

Just thought I would share. I don’t think I’m sold on my platform. Running the Tethrd predator

I use steps with a predator platform. But I use a different strap for the steps. Takes a minute longer, but it makes the platform and steps rock solid. I don’t feel right without both steps and the platform together.

Any time I run my platform I will use 2 or 3 steps along with it. The OCB take some practice but I like them better then ratchet strap or cam buckle.

I pretty much always have steps with my platforms.

Phatkaw can you share your thoughts on the OOAL Preset Solo?

I’m not sold on the 4” depth as it’s similar to the bull man ROS I’m running, do you find that you are able to plant your heel to stand if needed?

Does anybody know of another platform that would use a pass through strap?

I am using Latitude Rebel along with Bullman ROS. The Rebel is designed to have a ROS strap and secures it even tighter, the ROS gives me 360. It is a bit of a hassle to set up, but I feel worth it. I also can keep the tree between me and the deer etc. My presets are ROS only, non presets are dependent on the tree and set up.

I like my platform and ROS on separate attachment straps. All in one is too many moving parts to align quietly in the dark. Also, I often use one of the other and don’t want to have to disassemble and reconfigure all the pieces for each individual hunt.
