Please, please, please don't select me for jury duty!

Got my friendly letter today congratulating me that I need to complete my Juror Qualification Questionaire for the United States District Court. Great! Right smack dab during the crown jewel of my year; hunting season. For those of you keeping score at home that means, if selected, it will be a Federal trial. I'm keeping my fingers crossed...:grimacing:

I feel for you. 50 weeks a year we don't care what happens, all we ask is 2 weeks and sure enough every year it's chaos during those two weeks. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

I've often found that my duties/responsibilities are rarely easy or convenient. Other than the armed forces, I can't think of a higher honor than to serve the United States District Court.

For some reason I don't even get asked anymore. It seems like my wife gets asked a lot. I've never sat on a jury. Deer season wouldn't be my pick if I could pick.

I thought that too until my wife read off that some common cases included "destruction of mailboxes"...

It's just the timing of it. Now cue up the Lee Greenwood!

Federal jury duty lasts for an extended period of time, but there’s a small chance of you getting selected. And there’s several selections during the time you are assigned.

When I had federal duty I was only selected for one trial and we only had 2selection processes.

Thankfully, I have always been able to get out of jury duty. I got called about 5 years in a row.

Funny thing, I got a jury summons today. Fortunately its not until December....
Last time I was called I spent 3 weeks in the jury box.

I had to go last year, guy on the jury with me wanted to dismissed cause he couldn't go more than 20 minutes without peeing...Judge said that's what they make depends for so he had to stay with rest of us!
