Primal step platform

I was thinking this style of platorm needs a ratchet strap to really work well. Yours looks good.
Thanks. I use a tie down strap from my x-stand sticks for now, but being able to get it tighter with a ratchet may help. I’d really like to use cord like a rope mod on sticks.

Originally heard about the timber hitch in this thread, but the primal step / WE stepp would have to be modified as above:

Nice build! I like the design similar to the tree steps. I might have to try something like that. 3 lbs is good! Here is my first platform attempt, works pretty well except on small trees and it does tend to pull away and bend down. Put a couple gussets in and it'll really strengthen it if the flex bothers you. It won't add much weight at all

I originally was going to put gussets! Once I had that welded together it was so solid that I didn’t need it. It’s thick tubing. That part doesn’t flex, just stretches the strap and comes off the tree, needs longer legs. On my next one I plan to use thinner wall tubing and definitely add gussets.

I used electrical conduit from loews that I had laying around, the little bit heavier wall stuff. I've built lock-ons out of this stuff so I knew its strong though for those you gotta put in alot of gussets however this being small I just used my previous design and it's solid. This time I put a little angle on it to help the feet.
Really wish I was smart enough to figure out how to upload full pics LOL. I had some painted top view down and somehow it's bigger than the other pics IDK

Used it for first sit yesterday evening, I was in a softball sized tree, not what I'd normally choose but it bit good and never moved. That slight angle helps alot with feet discomfort
