This is an amalgamation of old ideas into a slightly different take on the preacher's tree seat.

This is 1/2 " plywood and Harbor Freight camo rope and about 30 minutes. ( Hence why I am 12 " off the ground).

The rope is to get measurements set for 2" webbing. The back webbing will be adjustable.

As is it is not bad to sit in. A few hunting seat pads and I could last a while. Also a turkey ground seat could be used for butt and back cushion.

I have to take it to the next level now and make a cushioned cover.

It's amazing how quick bare plywood gets uncomfortable.

Well it was precarious being 12 inches off the ground. I guess I'm old enough to die from a fall of that height.

I added a piano hinge for a more secure back. The immediate and obvious issue is that this will never hinge and pack like a GW or is offspring

Use a pack frame with molle slots, connected to a stiff seat via 2" strapping. Add bridges, bingo!?!

I can’t imagine trying to use a bow with all those ropes in the way..
I have a mil pack frame w molle slit’s and a 3” thick square foam seat with camo covering that is 12” long. how do I add the strapping and and what is the the bridge sewn to??

Dude that thing is rad. If you had a parcel you exclusively hunted and hunted crossbow or rifle you’d be gold for an all day sit.

I agree that all that cheap rope is chaotic and definitely not conducive to using a weapon. But the rope is to 1. test the idea of making a hanging plywood platform and 2. figure out the right strap lengths and bridge lengths before I go cutting 2" webbing. That Harbor Freight camo rope is cheap.

In your situation I would think you are going to have to sew a case that slips over your pack frame and your seat. The webbing would be sewn on the bottom of the cover. This is from my study of the Guido's web and jx3 hybrid.

I am not going to use a pack frame.....this is redneck plywood all the way. But the strapping and bridges are next.

I agree. I am fortunate to have my own hunting land. I put up a 4x8 "house" for this season about 10 feet off the ground. I'm thinking seriously of hanging this underneath the house and sitting in it to hunt......or nap....eh,?

I'm thinking having an upholstery shop do the fastening and sit drag style lineman's loops.

It appears u could spend a little time with a pencil and mark out and remove a bunch of excess unused material...u could also go to town with a holesaw and knock off a bunch of weight that way too...

The hole saw idea sounds like a great idea. Especially in the back. Thanks.

The ropes being drilled 1 inch in from the edge do pinch the cushion in and expose the plywood. When it has straps they will run around the outside of the plywood so I don't anticipate the same squishing effect.
