You’re gonna be hard pressed to catch the rut. It shifts so much and id be surprised if you catch them full on. Plus there are no deer in Alabama.
100%. No deer at all. I killed them all this year.
Close is good enough in horseshoes, hand grenades, and the rut. Not looking to breed a doe just tryna find a buck looking to.
Didn't think so, I've heard leasing timberland is a big thing down you way. Most of it up here is still open, but more and more leased up every year.
My moms folks are from PA. If you decide to come down one year I’ll help you out in any way I can. I need to get up to PA one year myself.
Anyone hunt Cahaba River WMA? I’ve seen some absolute studs come off of that place and the rut is pretty intense there.

My company has a branch in Dothan and I am heading down for a couple weeks in January and thinking about getting a 3 day license and hunting the weekend in Zone B somewhere. Any recommendations?
Eufala is probably the closest public land to Dothan. They rut late November/Early December though.
other options a little further away are Barbour WMA and Conecuh National Forest
I visited a very old cemetery in Eulfala a couple times. Very interesting area. I’ll look into it. I might just do some squirrel hunting and look around. I really like Alabama.
