Recommend RCH + Sit Drag for newbs?

Didn't that lime green harness that all the peeps were buying on sale have linesman's loops on it? I can't remember the name of the harness
Notch Sentry I believe and yes it did. They were going for $50.

Seems like not but rock climbers don’t have use for lineman’s loops, and linemen probably don’t need bridges… I haven’t found many non-saddle harnesses that have both.

There’s a ton of cheap wannabe arborist saddles on Amazon that fit the bill but who knows if they’re Chinese and legitimate safe quality.

I tied my own with 1" webbing. Made a full loop through my belay loop and gear hangers. Not counting on the gear hanger to support weight as if they broke the linesman would be supported by the belay loop.

It can be done, but yeah as you mentioned with the gear loops, it’s really modding the harness in a way it wasn’t intended to be used. I know everything saddle hunting is essentially borrowing gear from other specialties and bending safety rules, but for a newb starting out I’d be very reluctant to advise modifying the life support equipment itself- even if the belt does run through the belay loop. (Unless they decide they want to undertake that risk themselves knowingly.) That’s where I’d love to find an entry-level cost harness that provides both LB loops and bridge functionality as part of the tested design from the manufacturer.

@Plebe I’d still try to work a cheaper cost for an all inclusive kit to start but pair that with an OOAL Solo Scout and you might be all put together for around $500. I’ve only ever heard good things about CGM. Can’t say yea or nay on 2TC though, never tried it.
