Recommendations needed for a budget friendly saddle

Another vote for the TL Covert. Just got mine and love it.

Last year I used fleece here in SW Oklahoma and it wasn't too hot. From a pure comfort perspective it is hard to beat.

The slingshot looks like a modified sit drag

The recon looks like an ESS, am I wrong in this assumption?

Both the Recon and the ESS are just modified Anderson Slings.
I have hundreds of comfortable hours in my Recon. 99% are 12 hour days.
The Recon is affordable, well made in the USA, usually available within a week or 2, lightweight, versatile (2 panel adjustment), excellent customer service, and is the most comfortable saddle I've ever tried.

I say buy used as well. And try as many s you can at an event before purchasing. My budget saddle was a sit drag. So I bought two for $70. Then a $40 rock harness. $50 on rope. Another $30 on carabiners. Then I decided prussiks suck and dropped another $90 on ropeman1s. so I had $280 tied up in a “budget” saddle. Luckily all those add ons remained useful on my real saddles. I won’t detail what I’ve spent since then but just say it’s embarrassing.

Buy used. I’ve bought about 20 saddles on here used and I’ve been able to resale everyone.
