That valley is in a wind eddy. I was confused for many years by wind eddies. They can so frustrating, but they can also be really valuable under certain conditions. I can almost guarantee that somewhere in a wind eddy will have an up-draft. Those are great for not having odor busts, from the tree. Still have to worry about residual ground odor along your access trails. Reducing ground odor is a whole other discussion. Thanks for the info.
I have one plateau I hunt that if I walk in and the wind seems EXACTLY wrong when in the valley, it actually means it will probably be perfect up top. The plateau causes a curl over, just like how coral reefs in the oceans cause barrel waves.
