I have an og tethrd LB girth hitched To my saddle. It’s impossible to get off

what’s the secret? I don’t want to cut it off bc its going to my son and im getting 8mm

Can you wiggle the head of a flathead screwdriver in there, if you can wiggle it around and maybe twist it a bit to try to loosen the knot. Be careful to get the screwdriver head between the ropes and not in the rope.

I've had luck doing this before with knots in my rope that are super tight

i tried that but I couldn’t get it loos enough. It’s the thick part of the rope I can’t push through.

How did you form the bight that is girth hitched? Is it a figure 8 or overhand knot? If so, I'd try untying that knot first and then pull on that tag end/work it around like that. If it is a sewn eye, then you might have to cut it off.

You might try putting the whole thing in the freezer and see if it contracts a bit and gives you some wiggle room.
