I have.... knocking on wood....can you hear it.....? Never had a problem on here at all. Both buying things and selling things. People on this site have been absolutely top notch. I agree with the advice to talk to the moderators or admin about the issue before spamming someone. I will say, shipping is becoming a conundrum and my advice is to get a UPS account and measure and weigh your stuff first so you have an idea of the shipping costs and either build that into your pricing or as to share shipping etc. Several times people I've sold items to have just sent me more money to handle the shipping gouge. I really appreciate this site and the classifieds section here...... we'll have to roll 'em if it keeps up though.
 
Ok, I'll be "that guy". I had a transaction with a guy a while back that he didn't fulfill the entire deal. He had sold ALOT of stuff on here and after doing some due diligence, figured I would give him some time to finish the deal. I was VERY patient with him, then PM'd a mod or 2, and the best I got was "give him some time, you should do your research before buying". A month later I started a thread calling dude out, turns out he had stiffed several people.

First off, you should be refunded EVERY RED CENT, it's your money and you didn't do anything wrong. Second, when I give someone money for something, I fully expect to see it. If you don't ship it, you are stealing. In well over 15 years I've been partially jammed up once for about $15 worth of stuff, in the previously mentioned deal. I won't get burned again.

If I were you @IslandStorm62 , that guy would have 24 hours to give me a full refund or I would call him out.

This is not his first rodeo sale, so no shipping shock...just changed mind, but it is still a bad faith deal.
 
I'm trying not to call out bubba, just yet. Could be he might rethink/reset...Like I said he has been on a selling spree this past year. I did let him know it was not cool to reneged and that cost me pennies and wasted time waiting.
 
I haven’t bought or sold anything here yet, and don’t have authorization to post in that forum, but I’ve bought and sold a lot of gear on TreeBuzz and The TreeHouse. If I’m dealing with a new member or a stranger, I insist on PayPal Goods & Services, not PayPal Friends & Family.

It’s far from perfect for the seller, but as a buyer, it’s pretty easy to get my money back if something goes bad. Bad news is I’ve heard stories of deals going just fine, until a few weeks later when the buyer disputes, and somehow gets a full refund plus their item. Don’t recall exact details, but there’s a few folks that refuse to use PayPal because they got burned in that manner. I don’t blame them one bit. I freaking hate thieves so so much.

Now this deal was closed, paid for, and virtually shook on. This bubba has some gonads (hint). FYI, he has been a member since 2016 and has been on a selling rampage this past year. So just so I'm clear, my expectation when I use the classifieds here should be to lose money and consider it a win, and if I actually get the stuff I pay for I should perhaps consider it hitting the lottery? Sorry man, it just doesn't work that way. When I go to any retail space, whether online or in person, when I pay a perfect stranger for a product, I fully expect to receive it. Same goes for transactions in classifieds online. I've done a literal ton of deals online, and I had one bad experience, and that person was at best a thief. If the bar is as low as what you state our expectations should be, then humanity is in a world of hurt.
 
Yeah...I’ve had this same thing happen to me few weeks ago it cost me around the same much I am also scared to sell on here because I don’t want to agree on something and get shipping shock and back out of deal...

Hey, I have only backed out once...and itnwas because I missed that a bow was left handed!!!! And it was within 10 minutes of agreeing on a trade deal....

Yup, or don't buy from strangers or use "goods and services". Saves a whole Lotta belly aching.
I'm guessing everyone's season is about over.... maybe take up icefishing or knitting if it's to cold on your hands...

Ice is getting pretty thin here, it was 70 on Tuesday, melted a good part of it. The ice Went from 3ft to just over a foot in some places. Plus we had to have our houses off on Feb 28
