Replacing bridge

I’m looking to replace amsteel for rope. My current bridge that came on my method 2 is a pain when adjusting the length, and something about being suspended by the continuous loop freaks me out. What do you guys use as far as knots and rope lengths. Thanks.

I've used amsteel and the one that came on the transformer. Whatever that setup is on the transformer has been the best of the 2.

I use a pair of adjustable 8mm resc tech bridges. Tied off on one side by a scaffold knot and secured on the other side by a compact michoacan or a distel using 6 mm trc.

I typically use one of normal length when I tie off to the tree and keep the other one short for rappelling. Works well for me, no more bulk or weight than a full bury amsteel bridge.

Use a tubular webbing bridge. I’ve never had the need to adjust my bridge anyway, and all the left over rope and the Prussik was always in the way anyhow. The tubular bridge and triglides solved that issue for me.

Semper Fi,
Mike

Cool. How many feet of 8mm resc tech do you use?

mine is amsteel 1/4 inch I believe. It has an amsteel prussic on one loop. I put a JRB ascender (compact) on the side I actually adjust.

@James.S I’ll try to look it up, but before I sold my transformer I took pics & got the info figured out to replicate & that’s what I’ve replaced my other bridges with since. TX5s run a very similar setup. I like the feel better than amsteel…..
@JCLINE84
Any chance you have the recipe on hand?
If not I have it somewhere

I actually have some new custom sewn (professionally) Oplux bridges in the classifieds... You would need to pair with the hitch/material of your choice on the other side, or I may have something (if needed)... I'm currently running a 8mm Resctech sewn bridge (or Oplux) double girth hitched (with a Bull Hitch) on the left side and attached to the right side with a Beal Jammy.

I love the bridge on my Orion. Build a tender into it and it always moves when I adjust it. I'm not exactly sure what it is but if you look up the Overwatch Outdoors Orion.

As i recall on the Transformer the bridge is 9mm HTP and the prusic is 7mm Sterling accessory cord.
