Revolutionary Cold Weather Layering Systems

Interesting video regarding moisture management for winter clothing from a military prospective.

@RickyRacer- great explanation of the fishnet concept.
Are you wearing the fishnet and the Armadillo together?

I have been rocking fishnet base layers since 2020. I use the Eberlestock airbase in the early season and switch over to the Aclima woolnet when it gets a little colder.

The airbase are 100% polypropylene and wick/dry super fast. They do hold odor though so I treat them with elimishield X10D which helps some but not 100%.

The woolnets are 100% merino and don't dry as fast but wick well. They are the better choice for odor control/warmth/comfort. Ozone works well on them for destroying odor but the waist band on the pants takes a beating from it. I'm going to try a polartec power dry top over the merino to see if it will help speed up the drying time of the wool by wicking it away. I'm hoping it works similar to polartec power wool. I just grabbed a few A1 Aether tops from Beyond for about $20 each with their weekend flash sale. If it doesn't work like I hoped I'll just use them for running/workouts.
