Take a step back...
Cute story. TLDNR. LOL.
Take a step back...
You must be passionate about the topic. I almost had to take a nap reading it! LOL Quite the theory. I've heard similar stories about other fenced in properties. I know some of the hunters personally. some guys will do anything for a big buck. None of them were WR deer though.Too long my battery is almost dead!
This is why Boyne is the most loved member. He busts out vintage aerial photos of an airport. RESPECT!FWIW the airport property in April 1998. The apartment complex to the east is just starting to be built.

The airport wooded area at that time. The property was all dry and fairly open hardwoods with some service roads passing through.

My thoughts exactly!Ugh!! 1998 is considered VINTAGE?? Man I’m old!!
Cut a hole in the fence and tell noone? There is an airport that allows hunting here but it's like a secret kinda ...I've only met 1 person who knew about it and the procedure to sign up but it was something like u had to show up in person to a specific place on a certain day at a certain time and it was during the week while I would be at work so I never attempted. I drive by it kinda regular and see plenty of deer and the big international airport has loads of deer. I'm not sure how u would get permission there without having some sort of foot in the door
Cut a hole in the fence and tell noone?
I'll give you some of that because if you look at his buck, the first one all of this fuss is about, the absolute symmetry of the rack is near perfect for a typical frame, no deductions...... a scorer's dream buck. That's what looks fishy to me. I mean I've never seen anything so symmetrical. But then I would think that is way too obvious if it is a fake rack.If those funk-a$$ brow tines don’t scream “taxidermatitis” and “tomfoolidermy” I don’t know what does. Out of all the possible plausibilities, that rack, specifically the brows, just look wrong. No racks I’ve ever seen in a magazine or internet post or deer farm or “real life” have ever had such oddly positioned brow tines. Let your theories abound from there. I’ve got mine, and it’s not interesting: the best lies are rooted in truth, but something about that buck/story of harvest is fake or fiddled with, probably many somethings, and I believe the truth lies in those brow tines one way or another.
Dang it, you dragged me down the rabbit hole. THAT ISSSSSSSSSS strange that you dont see any blood in any of the pictures....whoa.@Topdog - I like your airport theory. That isn't something I've heard before.
Look at these other pictures of bucks Rompola killed. To me they are all odd. Just the way they are positioned - the fact that you never see an entry/exit wound, how perfectly symmetrical they are, and how some of the ears really droop back - just odd to me.

No entry or exit wound and it looks to be perfectly symmetrical

This one is very odd looking with a very round head and small neck. Also, the base on the right side of the photo appears to be located further forward on the head than the base on the left side.

Look at the ear droop on this buck - it is worse than the supposed world record! Almost perfectly symmetrical and no entry/exit wound showing. Very Odd.

Another buck with near perfect symmetry and no exit/entrance wound showing.
Maybe I'm a conspiracy theorist but these are all odd to me.
