Rope sourcing options?

I'm nowhere near any kind of climbing or other kind of outdoor store that I know of, and I'd like to actually lay hands on this stuff and try it out a little before buying it, plus I wish I didn't have to wait 5-7 days for each new installment.

Have any of y'all found places to buy actual serviceable ropes, for either tether or lineman's, anywhere NOT online?

Seems pretty obvious that I want to stay away from any kind of Walmart clothesline-type options...

Thanks!

You gotta have a rigging, arborist or climbing/outdoor store somewhere close I'd assume?

Turns out there's one about an hour+ away that might have rope.

My in-town tree guy friend said that Tractor Supply could have a double-braided option by the foot. That's kind of what I had in mind.

Tractor Supply doesn’t have any suitable rope for life support, better to go with another option.

Maybe an opportunity for members with short cutoffs, long enough to feel and maybe tie a knot in, but too small to do anything with, to create a bit of a test kit that can be mailed around?

I think I have an unused 8 or 10’ section of some Sterling C-IV Canyon Rope that I cut out of a 50’+ section I bought for a rappel rope. I have a few of these laying around as spares.
If you want to pay shipping I’ll send it to you. If you like it we’ll work something out, if not just send it back to me.
