Well, I just ordered an 8 foot edelrid tether from arbsessions with a tight eye sewn on one end for my screw link and a 6 inch eye on the other end to clip back to my carabiner (for a fail safe).

I just realized that with sewn eyes on both ends I won't be able to slip the rope through the tenders I usually use from Eastern Woods Outdoors.

Any cool designs for a DIY tender that can work around this difficulty?

I'm betting someone has done a cool paracord braid one that can be tied right around the rope.

Any suggestions or pictures are welcome! Thanks

thanks, but i'm wanting to avoid more exotic hitches like that and just use a regular distel and a tender

here's an idea, the black is paracord or 7/64" amsteel, red circles are the rope and carabiner inside loops i'm forming, the ends of the paracord is melted to form a ball so it can't pull through, and the red lines in the middle is where i'll serve the middle (probably just alternating overhands) to hold it together and add a little stiffness

EWO also sells a tender that clips onto the line.

Yes the triangle portion is plastic. The gate is the only metal on it. I use one on my rappel rope so I can reattach it and not thread it through 40' of rope lol.

Like Alud555 stated small double eye strap that goes around the rope and clip the eyes between the hitch eyes. Can also sew the eyes and then put a piece of cover over it, seems to slide easier.
Or a stopper knot will tend if just using cord without eyes.

I made one out of paracord using the same knots as when u tie a Prussia loop… don’t remember what they’re called when installed like his but the same knot u tie as a stopper at the end of ur tether or LB

Paracord tied in a fisherman’s knot with a 1” d ring you can get a d ring from the sewing section of walmart and the paracord will easily fit between the two legs of the hitch cord

1/8" or 3/16" quick link from the hardware store, mini biner keychain, snap link, etc. Lots of options.
