I have the 8mm tethrd tether and linemans rope. I see a lot of ppl prefer the ropeman 1 over a prusik knot. I have also read that the ropeman 2 is too aggressive and eats up rope. I am not the kind of guy who will run the ropeman 1 on 8mm due to it being out of spec. Should I just stick with a prusik? Thanks!

Also please consider i am only considering a ropeman for my tether. I am ok with prusik on linemans rope.

I see a bunch of guys running a Kong ascender on 8mm ropes instead of a ropeman.

There’s other knots besides the Prusik which are a good option but if you’re dead set on a mechanical then the Kong Duck is in spec for 8mm. I used one before I went back to a friction hitch and it worked well.

This is a replacement for the Prusik. I have been using this Double Michoacán jig for over 2 years. I only published it on video a few days ago. You will see me compare it to a Prusik and there is no comparison. I still need to show ya how to use it on a Lineman's... will do that video ASAP.

I have the ropeman 2 on my linemans belt and after 2 years using it I'm not seeing the wear people talk about. I do may sure not to pull it when adjusting until it's free.

What rope are you using, I’ve found the bigger it is the less shredding happens? A small diameter rope can shift around in the device allowing teeth to chew.
