Looks great! Where did you get the laser cut paneling?Overview of the completed RZR MAGNUM PAK | BlackLab Outdoors
Not sure about OP but I've been contemplating getting some from here: https://carcajoutactical.com/collections/diy-supplies/products/diy-molle-pannelLooks great! Where did you get the laser cut paneling?
Thank you I appreciate it.Looks great! Where did you get the laser cut paneling?
I definitely wish I had known about that paneling before I sewed this:Thank you I appreciate it.
Now you have a reason to do a 2.0I definitely wish I had known about that paneling before I sewed this:
Showing off my PP (build your own predator pack)
Ok, I just wrapped up my foliage predator pack build. I took some inspiration from both the laser cut XL pack design as well as the original predator pack. I have about 27 dollars in the whole build thanks to supplies that were on hand. I tried to cut down on some of the extraneous straps...saddlehunter.com
Yeah sewing the webbing can be pain lol, my first version was like that makes me want a bar tack machine.I definitely wish I had known about that paneling before I sewed this:

You still did a great job on it.
I wish those panels were cheaper though, makes me want a laser to do it myself. Then I could start cutting different parts for like bino harnesses or range finders or whatever.
Hahah yepLol I love the “those panels are expansive so I better just buy a much more expensive device to make them cause eventually I’ll break even hahah

Yeah it usually doesn’t take much for me to buy a new tool lolEvery tool finds a project to justify it. My motto anyway. I have a basic laser cutter, I can get through 1/4 plywood but never tried cutting fabric with it. Think you’d want one with co2 to prevent burning since I believe cordura is nylon. I thought about modding mine to add it, but with 4 kids, my tinkering time has seen I steep decline. Maybe one day.
Arsenal is releasing the 2.0 sometime this year. Now you have a reason to do a 2.0
Thank you, I appreciate it.Nice build! And thanks to you, now I want a laser cutter.
Question for you, can you share your experiences with the Omega (Sailrite LSZ clone) versus your Thor (assume it is the Juki 1541 clone) with regard to building your gear?
I already have industrial triple feeds; however, That would give some more info. to those thinking about LSZ versus true industrial triple feed for their first purchase.
Again, nice job!
Thank you, I appreciate it.
Lol, I know I have just been thinking about the different cutouts I can make for stuff and I am trying to sell it to wife to make Christmas ornaments and presents with it too. Fingers crossed.
As far as laser cutters I have been looking at the polar 350 by omtech.
I built my first saddle using the Omega, it was phantom xl before there was a phantom xl. It worked just fine my only real complaint about it is the presser foot height, it’s only 3/8” compared to the Thor which is 16mm/or 9/16”. Which really is the main reason why I got the Thor, I looked at a lot of machines and that was my goal was to get one with the highest presser foot height.
In my opinion I think the Thor gc1541s is a mix between the 1541 and the 1508. It has an extra tension knob and the control on top of the machine to adjust the feet height when going over thicker assemblies which is nice. It also can handle up to 207 thread if I remember correctly, the juki 1541 is up to 138.
The Thor is really a more capable machine, plenty of punching power. It runs well and has handled everything I have put through it. I have switched between 69 and 92 size thread without having to mess with the upper or lower tension too, which is awesome.
There is also other companies that make the same clone, I got mine used from sunny sewing machines in Dallas tx shipped for $1500 I think. Looks brand new.
I still have the omega and it will get it set back up as soon as I have space, only have room for one machine right now. I was thinking about upgrading it to a servo motor and regular foot pedal thing.
They both are finicky when it comes to using a binder attachment. Sometimes they run perfect with it and other times I pull my hair out.
That’s why I would like to get the omega set up for binding only, set it and use only for that. At least until I get a Yamata fy335a cylinder arm, this is synced binding machine, the binder moves with the foot.
I do have a video on the omega walking if others want to see that on my YouTube channel, I will get one for the Thor at some point here.
For people getting into sewing and wanting to sew gear, triple feed walking foot is the way to go hands down.
It will be the only machine they will need for a long time.
Yep it’s no problem, sorry if it jumped around a little bit.Great info share. Thanks!
Depending on how in spec the clone is, you might be able to get a synchronized binder setup for it. Jhunter and myself have the kit for a juki 1508 and have it working on our Juki 563 machines.
Company is khsew, and they have a kit that works with a Juki 1541. You may want to check that out.
