Saddle climber

I'd love to see someone use a wire core flipline on one....I've had that thought bouncing through my head for awhile now but I'm just an idea guy with this stuff. Design and Mfg just doesn't really interest me. Similar to cable obviously but to me there are some upsides to a textile over the rubber coating. Infinite adjustment possibly, maybe a little quieter, nicer hand feel.

I prefer the cable to the belt though. More of a trust issue than ergonomics, I don't really trust the belts. Never tried the API chain

I prefer the grip and adjustment of the LW style belts, but after reading about some who have had them break, that does worry me.

The biggest complaint I hear about belts is them hanging up while climbing, which often is a result of poor climbing technique.

I dont really have any experience with the belts. Had an API climber for years and have used a handful of summits.

Interesting thought with the wire core rope. No idea how durable that would be used in the context of a climber. The API chain worked fine but the plastic sleeve wasnt super durable. Like the cable, could be loud if you didnt pay attention to what you were doing on/off the tree.
 
I prefer the API rubber coated chains to the Summit coated cable. I did like the larger diameter Ol' Man coated cable though. I've never tried a belt one. I did not care for the coated cable on the X-stand tiny climber, but that may have been due to the spring arms on it.

See, now I was just the opposite. I like the summit coated cable better than the motorcycle chain. The coating on the API gets brittle in my experience. The Ol' Man large diameter coated cables were nice.

Guess I am not familiar with the Ol' Man cable yall are talking about. The one I had the cable was threaded through a water hose.

That's it. It had a rubber tubing over the cable. The cable had a loop at one end that a pin went through for adjustments.
