Saddle Fall

You have a 4 turn Prusik. I had that on my tether and i couldn't move it even when I partially unweighted it. I went to a 3 turn and haven't had a problem. Maybe that would give you enough slack. I use a Beal jammy loop as my tether Prusik since it is full weight support and sewn ends so no knot.
That funny....if I have it 3 turn the tender doesn't work correctly...4 turn and tender smooth as a baby bottom

Depends on diameter of rope and cordollette. Ideally about 3mm smaller diameter prussic cord will work the best.

Love those beal-jammy loops.

I don't think having the phone closer is a way to mitigate risk. I've often been many many many hundred feet up the side of a cliff without a phone. In fact I Ieave it home as much as possible.

Knowing your gear and how to use it, and not getting lazy and complacent is what needs to be done. I literally inspect my rock/ice climbing ropes two fingers squeezing at a time there entire 60 meter after EVERY day of use. There was a time that could be upwards of 100+ times a year. If something feels even slightly off, the rope is retired.

How many people throughly inspect your rope systems after EVERY use? Fraying...retired..flat-footed, retired...slight burn mark...retired. biner gate is slow to close, retire....
I agree 100%. Still going to have a phone too if possible.

The muddy rope is either the same diameter as Teufelberger Resc Tech 8mm or just a hair difference. If u just look by eye they look the same diameter but in the hand u can feel a difference....but it just a hair (u know the hair I'm talking about... rhymes with punt)

Sorry large font....I copy and paste....that a tough word

I used the jammy on 8mm rope. I was on the top of my stick about 4 feet up and had to tippy toe to get enough slack in my tether to get down. I had to turn the Prusik to get it free. I don't use a tender so I can't comment on that.
