Saddle Hunting Backpack

Wow. Interesting.
It appears to the the solution for caring sticks and platform.

A Eberlestock X2 on the way huh?
Curious... is/was it because you watched this video?

Yes, that video is where I first saw it a few weeks back. I didn't jump on it right away because I had a new Superday I wanted to try. I'm several hunts into the season and the Superday is still not what I'm looking for. It's a really nice bag, but just still doesn't allow for the organization I'm looking for. I've got new Beast sticks arriving today and the X2 seems perfect for carrying sticks and has many pockets for organization. I'm really hoping my search will be over when it gets here Friday. I ordered direct from Eberlestock on Monday and it shipped immediately.

Wow again.
Nice post on a subject (Eberlestock X2) that consumes me at the moment.
The Super Day is close to $200 also.
I like the looks of that pack, and am sorry to hear it doesn't do the job.
I thought I saw it on sale for $100 a while back.
Looks like it was a good decision to not pull the trigger.
Curious what don't you like it?
Because it doesn't hold the sticks?

"I ordered direct from Eberlestock on Monday and it shipped immediately."
So I'm guessing you are expecting it today?

I was able to get mine on sale for about $160. Yes, it's a chunk of change but it's extremely well built and so far I'm loving it. It distributes weight well and has tons of space.

For those that have one, what size are you? Asking because the only negative thing that I see is that it isn't for "big" guys. I am only 6 ft and around 220 (ok, maybe 230 depending on the Oreo consumption) and was thinking about trying one, but wanted some input from others who were about my size

The Superday is really nice and is perfectly functional for me at the moment but I like more pockets. I like to keep smaller items in specific pockets so I can easily get what I need when I need it. The Superday has some but not nearly as many as the X2. The wings on the X2 are also a lot larger than the Superday. I'm going to have 5 sticks available to carry and I'm sure I could get them lashed onto the the Superday but the X2 just seems so much better suited for it. I also have a brand new, still in the plastic Badlands 2200 that has really nice wings, but overall the pack is just bigger than I want. I'm telling you, for me, finding the perfect pack is the hardest part of the equipment challenge.

This is true.
And it takes awhile to get used to a pack.

While I would like to hear what you think about the Eberlestock X2, I'n not sure I can wait.
Re color: I can decide between multicam and mountain.

Im 5’6” 157lbs. I bought one second hand for $125 with the bow bucket. I think it fits like a medium pack. Here’s the thing ... if you’re looking for light weight, the pack itself is just under 5lbs. There is a good amount of storage room and if you’re not careful you can end up packing a lot of weight in it. Here’s a pic of mine with 4 helium sticks and too much stuff packed inside. I walked about a mile and some change in, and a mile and some change back out yesterday. I was happy with how it carried the weight. All in all, I think I carried somewhere around 24lbs with weight of the pack included. I’ve since turned the sticks upside down and use a loop at the bottom of the inside of the side “wings” to secure the sticks by the versa button. This keeps them from sliding at all.

Overall very happy with the pack, but again it’s too easy to pack too much in this bag.

I too have the X2. I also have the Pop up 28 from Mystery Ranch.

The X2 carries 4 sticks and a predator platform very nicely and quietly for me. Plenty of room for your preferred tools of the trade.

I am running a US Army Large Ruck Sack this season. It is a bit big, but it is awesome. The main pouch has two compartments. I put my saddle in the bottom compartment (zipper on the back of the bag gets it in and out easily). The harness is excellent and super comfortable. There is molle attachments everywhere for sticks, platforms or whatever. I paid $47.

I need a bigger pack because I hunt in cold weather and pack a lot of layers. This may not be needed elsewhere.

I honestly don't think there is a better, more cost effective option.

Does it fit like your Pop Up 28? I had one of those

Nice pic.
Thank you.
Please share... Where did you get it from @ $160?

That was a sale on Dvor. The price was actually $140 I believe but after tax and shipping it was around $160. I too was struggling with the $200 price tag but figured I'd roll the dice on that deal.
