Saddle meet up North East Florida

Blanding is awesome for us public land hunters because it allows does and bucks up till the end of hunting season but they have a rule saying you have to be outta there 30 minutes after official last light..... So if you wanna hunt far back it has to be a morning/afternoon hunt. Sucks having to be super hurried if you sit till dark

If you happen to shoot something at last light they ask that you call them then and you can track till check out time. If you have your hands on it by cut off and you call them to let them know they’ll give you all the time needed to remove the game. They can’t force you to leave recovered game if you are in the process of dragging out. It falls under wanton waste laws.

Great info, thanks!

Just don't be surprised when 2 or 3 MP's are waiting for you at your vehicle

That’s straight from the old man at the check station. If your not dragging you got to leave it and finish looking next day. If it’s in your possession it’s yours till it’s removed and checked

Just wanted to reach out and see if any of you all live around the Jacksonville/St. Augustine, FL area and would be willing to meet up so I could try a saddle?

I really would love to get myself a set up but don’t want to drop $400+ (once i get some steps/sticks) for something I feel really uncomfortable with.

And I know a guy who owns quite a few saddles, a few different ring of steps, and a couple different platform options who would also be glad to provide the food. I think it’s about time North Florida has its own version of saddle palooza. Perhaps we can make it big enough to be a true annual event.

I’m pretty sure there are enough to people interested in saddles these days, that there will be more than just the forum. I believe we can recruit some more SH members from a Hang and Hunt event. PS If I don’t want to hear from them again, I’ll just practice the art of selective hearing  my wife is a master so I learned from the best

Just searched "Florida" for this exact reason and found this thread. I'm in Eustis but am willing to make a drive. Need some younger hunting partners that don't want to drive 4 hours to GA for a $1600 a year lease, just to knock down 1 pig and a doe. (Not me, but my buddy who's been trying like hell for me to get on his lease.)
