Whats up guys. Figured id get my intro out of way and post what im using so i can get any help along the way that I might need. I have a Latitude Method (metal free) arriving friday. Very excited to try this saddle for my first saddle ever. Have been hearing nothing but good things from people similar size (6' 170lbs). Also bought a Petzl GRIGRI V1 from Greg Staggs on facebook that will be here saturday. I have 4 LW full length sticks and plan on modding one of the sticks down to around 16''-17'', putting a double step on the top step & cam cleat on it + an aider and using it for one sticking....

As of right now I dont have a platform and will be practicing with my XOP Vanish. But am leaning toward a OOAL Ridge Runner, Tethrd Predator, or Trophy Line Mission. And possibly upgrading toward the beginning of next season to a LWCG Ambush. I like the idea of having a larger platform to maneuver better and have more foot room but Weight is one of the TOP issues for me as ill be carrying filming gear next season. So still have some weighing options on the platform, But am leaning toward the ridge runner or predator to get proficient with a smaller platform....

So right now my main issue is learning the one stick method with the gear I have now (Petzl GriGri V1) as i might have jumped the gun on a great priced piece of gear. Im kind of lost on the rope requirements to accomplish the one stick & rappel method being the GriGri V1 is rated for only 10mm-11mm rope, so thats one thing im hoping i can get some straight forward help with from the guys here. Ive looked at a few types of rope. Good rope isnt cheap. And being im planning on switching things up sooner or later, probably to a madrock safegaurd and smaller diameter and lighter rope, I dont want to spend top dollar on 10mm rope im not going to be running with for too long. So oping I can get suggestions on safe, cost effective and as light as possible rope selection.

So right now thats pretty much it. Will be taking the Latitude Method for a test drive this weekend and getting some time learning my tether height, bridge length and maneuvering around trees shooting.

Thanks in advance if anyone can answer some of these questions concerning the GriGri V1 and rope selection for rappeling.
Thanks guys! Looking forward to posting here more often and talking with you guys!

Welcome from Maine. Sorry I'm not experienced enough to help with any of your questions but it seems like your off to a good start.

Thanks for dropping by and saying hello! Its amazing what you can learn on the internet these days LOL. You can literally know absolutely nothing one day, spend a few weeks obsessing about a topic and become really versed very fast. I knew nothing about any of this a few weeks ago. Im pumped to get my saddle and actually get some experience and then i feel like i can start moving to more advanced stuff. Again thanks for dropping by!

Welcome from Rhode Island. I just started repelling last year and was lucky enough to get a safe guard and 40' of Oplex so that's all I have experience with. I'm sure someone here will help answer your questions though, because of the members this is the best site on the web!

Welcome from Michigan. Have you been introduced to dano yet? Eastern woods outdoors? You can get custom lengths of rope. So you don't have to buy 200' or so.
