Saddle Recommendations for sitters

I am strongly interested in adding a tree saddle to my arsenal for next season. I've tried climbers and I'm just not a fan. I prefer stand and sticks by far. However, even with fairly lightweight stand and sticks I'm well over 20 lbs just for the tree setup.

I've already got several sets of sticks that will work for me and a linemans (currently made of Predator w/ RM1). I just need a saddle, tether and a platform. I'd like to know what the consensus is for the most comfy sitter's saddle. Also FWIW, I tend to do loooong sits as I have limited days to hunt, I will often hunt dark to dark. Input and recos are appreciated!

My first year with a saddle, longtime hunter though, I went with a cruzr xc and my biggest problem is staying awake, I sit 98% of the time in the cruzr xc. My back is trashed and for whatever reason sitting in a saddle makes it feel better, I couldn’t sit in a traditional tree stand seat more than 15
minutes and I would have to stand.

JX3 was definitely cool looking, but price and weight wise I think I'm gonna start off with a more "conventional" saddle.

My only experience has been the Trophyline Ambush Pro and Treehopper Recon Sling. I highly recommend the Recon for sitting. But just from what everyone recommends, the JX3 is the way to go for ultimate comfort.

I can sit in complete comfort for hours and hours in my JX3. I haven’t tried any other saddles because I haven’t needed to. I have always been a stand sitter so I got it as my first saddle with that in mind and it was a great decision. I was honestly shocked when I sat in it for the first time. Not only how comfortable I was but how safe I felt.

Another vote for the Cruzr XC. I've done several dark to dark sits in it. Get a back band with it or make your own to switch up positions once and awhile for the all day sits. Half days are doable for me without a back band. A platform really helps for the all day sits too. I have a predator platform but it's the only one I've tried aside from a couple diy ones so I can't compare. I'm happy with the Cruzr XC and Predator platform though and really don't see a need to change anytime soon.

Cruzr XC or possibly the Latitude Method. I own a Cruzr XC and that's what I'm using the most. I just received a Method, but I have not sat in it yet...

Come to the light, the JX3 tree saddle light..............
Don't be afraid, you will sit from dark to dark very comfortably, be able to snooze when you want, no dreaded hip pinch, no back aches, you can shoot 360° around the tree.
No platform required, only a ROS, no knee pads required, no sore knees, built in pack frame for carrying all your needs.
Buy once, cry once.

I've been impressed with latitude classic with a backband. I'm a sitter, I use ring of steps and straddle most trees and lay back into backband (Mines a trophyline). Very comfortable, but most my sits are 4 or so hours in it this year. The classic is lower priced than most also. It has a large butt area and has vertical supports. I owned a trophyline and a tethrd mantis, this classic blows them away.

Thanks for all the input guys. I'm really leaning towards a Cruzr XC having watched a bunch of vids on it. That said the JX3 definitely appeals to me as well... especially for long sits as I'm prone to do. I'm just a tad concerned about the weight being not much different from a hang on and sticks for some of my further walks. Probably going to start with a Cruzr....

Try a two panel saddle like the method, so you can support your back and butt. Or your going to want to use a back band if your using a single panel saddle and only sitting. The recon is a great option that is light and cheap to throw in your back pack. I have a flex and a method, if I’m planning to sit all day, I’m not bringing the flex.

If you are wanting to cut weight and you don't mind spending a little extra $, check out the carbon fiber stix from Timber Ninja.

I’m primarily a sitter and I’ve tried almost everything. I didn’t like the Method for sitting. I’ve found the ESS, Recon and The original Aero Hunter Flex to be super good for sitting. I have a Cruzr XC on the way and I expect it to be good as well because the design is similar to the original flex.
