Is your hitch cord smaller than main line?

Tie you a Blake’s hitch and be done with it. Nothing performs the old grip and slip like a Blake’sCan someone tell me if I tied this correctly? I was on my platform at ground level yesterday and my hitch kept sliding down.

Thanks, all. It's 8mm main line and 6mm hitch line. @valerio024, I followed your YouTube video (I enjoy your videos, I find them very helpful!). The fault is on my end for sure - it was the first time I have tied any friction hitch.
You guys think I just need more wraps? Do ropes need to "break in"?

Sometimes new ropes “milk” when you are first using them. For those reasons I’m partial to easy proven hitches like a standard 6 wrap prusik or the Blake’s hitch. Thanks, all. Can’t beat the most proven hitch in the Arborist worldI prefer a Blake's as well.
The michoacan hitch goes three over one under and you use both legs to hitch the carabiner through... if memory serves me correctly!Looks like Blakes Hitch is same as the Michoacan except it goes through 2 wraps?
