Season destroyed by the beast stand

It's one of many mountain bucks but yes, that was the area I asked for help on. I'm going to use the assault 2 the rest of the season
Bro I've been tagged out and jonesing to hunt. If you want anymore advice/opinions I'd love to try and help you get him.

All bias and nonsense aside. Is the stand really not worth having? Or is it just nitpicking since its so expensive, not saying you shouldnt take issue with the flaws. Im just genuinely curious.

The dimensions of the stand are perfect FOR ME. But there's alot that needs work. The bracket is trash, they need to beef up the end of the stand where the rungs are so thin. I myself feel safe on the end but I've come to understand how a bigger guy wouldn't. It annoys me to no end how big the gap is where the bow holder would have been. There should be another bar or two of metal going across that gap.
And the popping noise is killer. Ruins the stand as far as I'm concerned. A few of you guys messaged me on here who've been having the same issue.

And the seat seems to be supporting itself in that position.

Dans said on multiple podcasts that a smaller stand is coming out. The Beast stand wasn't made to be the lightest, but I bet this mini beast winds up bigger and lighter than the 0.5.
Clearly looks like a Bungie is holding it up

So the 1.0 is clearly the better choice? I know the .5 is the comparison weight wise. The beast just seems like the perfect blend of size and weight but $625 is a tough pill to swallow and not be perfectly happy with the stand.

Pick your poison. It's subjective. Just know:

Kinda the main takeaway here.

Just bought one used. Very curious to see what all the bitching is about. I'll be putting it through the paces asap.

I always knocked the 1.0 for the razer sharp edges but the beast isn't much better. Everywhere my straps were connected to were starting to fray on the beast stand as well, just not as fast as my .5 did. I don't recall my .5 making noises however

My 0.5 is rock solid if I toe hook, and doesn't make a peep. The Beast has big (or small..?) Shoes to fill

Im going to buy one of these stands soon, just trying to do my research and see what people like and dont like to figure out which one I would be happy with.

i couldn't stand my lone wolf assault's v bracket with teeth close to the back of my head/neck/brain stem; and fashioned a reinforced pool noodle cover and considered flipping it bracket down

given how sharp and pointing the beast stands bracket is, i think people that have it should put a serious sheath over it or flip it upside down....that picture gives me butt pucker

if you took a hard fall walking down a snowy hill, that stand could kill you, no joke

@bigmike23 and @enkriss have experience with both LWCG and Beast stands. You can read their postings and get an idea of where they landed on them.

I have no experience with the Beast stand.

But I use a .5 as a saddle platform...so here it is:

Like: Carries LWCG sticks great
Like: Seat makes a decent knee rest
Like: Seat makes a stowage shelf
Like: Small and lightweight stand that compares to XL platforms
Like: I got mine during Xmas sale...so $400.
Dislike: It came with sharp edges, I used a dremel to round them over. (allegedly they are better now)
Dislike: Knee rest doesn't work well if tether is offset (above tree crotch)
Dislike: Needs two cam straps for side pressure (not a big deal...just thought I'd mention it)

The things I've heard others complain about regarding the LWCG .5 are sharp edges, flex in the post, and having too narrow a V bracket. Some of the folks who complained about these things have, I believe, come back to LWCG stands. I'm not saying those aren't areas that could be improved, but I'm not having stability issues with mine, though I haven't been up every tree in the woods.

The issues @bigmike23 noted pretty much sum up the majority of complaints with that Beast stand.

Hope that helps.
