Seeker or mini seeker, that is the question.

Started saddle hunting two years ago and the only platform that I have ever used is the UP on my EWO one stick. I'm a 75/25 leaner/sitter so definitely want the angled front edge, but, Looking for something that I can also (comfortably) stand straight up on.
For those of you that have tried both, which do you prefer and why? Is that one extra pound really that big of a deal? I just ordered the TL Platow pack so that is what I will be using to carry the platform and my one stick. Thanks for any feedback.

I only have experience with the Seeker and it is a very solid, comfortable platform. Easily able to turn around back to the tree to get a shot off. It also carries very well on the Platow pack.

I have both and if I had to pick one over the other, I’d go with the Seeker. If you need to turn and face away from the tree, there’s more foot room on the regular Seeker. As far as facing the tree, I like the mini just as well as the Seeker.

Thanks for the reply.
My friend ordered both to try and I got to check them out for about 10 minutes today (fresh out of the box, standoff not installed). Coming from the angled UP, I was dead set on the mini. Figured that even a small platform I could stand up on would be a huge improvement, and I want to keep the weight down. After holding and seeing both, side by side, I am now leaning toward the full sized seeker. Less shuffling to turn on, and really, not much bigger than the mini.

FWIW I have the regular Seeker and I love it. I carry it slung over my shoulder on a old padded sling and really hardly notice it's there.

I have a predator and ordered the Seeker. Gets here tomorrow. Wanted something different and like the angled front since I’m mostly a leaner.
Looking forward to trying it out!!

I have both and wear a 14W. I pre ordered the seeker and have been using it since it was available. I also got the mini due to the weight savings game and I like to experiment.

If I am doing a shorter afternoon hunt for a few hours I will take the mini. If I know I’m going to be three hours or more I’ll take the seeker. Both work the exact same.

Someone above mentioned being able to turn around on the mini being more difficult. I agree with that versus the seeker, however, it is up to you to decide how often percentage wise you are having to actually take that type of shot versus a pound of weight savings.

In the end, if a pound of overall weight hinders you from saddle hunting than you may have other issues going to be more concerned about.

I tried them both and ended up with the mini. MUCH more room than the UP without the added bulk/weight if the regular seeker.
Zero One Actual made the statement above, "Its up to you to decide how often percentage wise you are having to actually take that type of shot". I really took that statement to heart. I decided that I can do all I need and then some, with the mini. It's not as roomy as the regular, it's not quite as easy to turn on as the regular, but it has plenty of room FOR ME and I can still stand straight up and turn without hassle.

Next question,
Should I upgrade the strap? If so, what is recommended?

I prefer the Tethrd strap…. It seems like it gets tighter and is a better quality strap. I don’t like the Cruzr strap.

If you are ordering other things from another company and want to get a different strap as part of the order to save on shipping then go for it. I am still on the original strap for the seeker (two seasons now, or since whenever it came out) with zero issues. The mini strap is the same, no issues at all so far to make me want to order a new one.

here’s some seeker porn for all you junkies.

I think the strap on it works and is durable, but definitely doesn’t adjust as nicely as my Novix straps did. That’s the one thing I’ve found is getting those straps hooked up are always a pain. But once it’s in, I stand on the top of the post, toe hook the platform, let my weight really set it and them can it back down. Once I do that it doesn’t move and I’m 5’11’’ 245#. That’s without gear or my heavy alpha burley’s on, so I’d say go closer to 265 and it’s rock solid.

Dude that is sweet right there! And that was before the badazz camo job!
I’m not buying a new platform, I’m not buying a new platform, I’m not buying a new platform, I’m not buying a new platform……..make it stop!

^^^that looks great! Definitely gonna do similar to the mini. Did you just use Rustoleum?

yup, gave it two coats of green, did stripes with the black flowing the angles that were there, then sponges on the tan, then sponge the brown.

ifs Ike to be heavy with the tan because you’re going to break it up with the brown.

I just tried out the seeker for the first time and it definitely feels comfortable. The two downsides I see are weight and packability, which it seems like you have covered. I currently use the predator, but would love an angled front edge. However, with the way I am packing it, this would also make it more difficult to get everything as compact as I like.
