I am looking for opinions on selling my Mathews Halon 6. Which is better: selling everything as a package or selling individual pieces? Selling it in the classifieds on here or on EBay? Thanks guys/gals

Yea usually better money if you split it up. On where it’s best to sell, its hard to say. Honestly just depends on if you find a guy that happens to want that exact combo. I’ve sold a ton of stuff on eBay. A few things on here as well. Have had no problems selling bows on eBay.

I’ve sold several bows online. I’d recommend posting a with and without price for the accessories. I personally won’t buy a loaded bow as I have what I like. But some new folks might be looking to buy a loaded older flagship so that works for them.
As for selling, I would only sell here and AT. If you do sell on eBay be EXTREMELY careful as it’s full of scams. In my younger days I had folks try and scan me twice. One claimed bow came broken, the other said I sent a box loaded with magazines. Take tons of pics and thoroughly describe in detail every single flaw. Then as for shipping I only ship UPS and I only have THEM pack it. If you pack it and it gets destroyed they will NOT honor insurance payout. Get insurance at least twice what the buyer paid so if something happens you can reimburse the buyer and you aren’t left without a bow.
Not saying here and AT aren’t without issues but typically they draw a different crowd than eBay.

I recommend posting it here and on Archerytalk.
I've never sold a bow but I have bought them from each of these sites and every bow was in the exact condition as described and every buyer I dealt with was honest and responsive. I'd buy another one if my wife didn't know how many I have already, lol.
I also suggest to be willing to split the pieces up if someone wants just one item. It may seem like more work but chances are you'll get rid of everything sooner than if you would sell it as a complete package.
Good Luck!

I’ve sold a bow and a crossbow on here. I’ve never sold anything on EBay so I have no personal experience with that. Each buyer is different and may or may not want certain items. My experience with the people on this sight has been excellent. Buyers may be concerned with shipping damage so besides insurance, you may want to recommend the buyer pay the extra 3.5% goods and services fee via PayPal which protects them as well and you have your money no matter what as the seller.

So I have sold stuff on eBay on and off. Expect to lose +/- 20% of final winning bit is the usual outcome.

I would say it depends on how much time and effort you want to put into gaining the most profit and are you in a time crunch to get out of your hand. There is a good balance between profit/time/efforts.

Ebay is usually the least painful and straight forward and most likely to make a sale. If you dont mind not maximizing profit.

Try Archerytalk classified but there will be a lot of competition and people know their market value.

I’ve sold many items on eBay and you’re right, you lose the 10% to 20% when eBay takes their cut, but overall, bidding is usually pretty good. Just got $140.50 on there for a OOAL Ridgerunner Platform and ended up seeing $127 in the bank account. eBay’s fees and shipping took the difference, but I was happy since a new one costs $182. I appreciate everyone’s knowledge here. I’m probably going to put the whole package up for sale, along with an itemized list just to see if anyone is in the market for the package or individual parts. Thanks to all who left a comment.

I've never sold anything online but I have bought twice on this site. I'm inclined to agree with Woodsdog2, the folks on here are top notch. I couldn't say enough positive things about my buying experience here, for what it's worth.

Also, Welcome to the forum!

Its a trick. Be vigilante! They are really helpful until one day you find yourself with 10 saddles, 20 platforms, 30 ring of steps, 40 bows, 1k feet of ropes, and a millions carabiners....... Then you wonder how it happened...

Things like that, I either try to sell it as a package on craigslist or a similar local option (no fees, no taxes, no shipping charges), or I would break it up and sell it online to be shipped. But as others have said, expect less selling it as a package, but you may save enough money selling it locally to make that viable. I often chuckle a bit when people try to get top dollar online for super specific packages that were tailored to exactly what THEY wanted....without seeming to realize that nobody else wants it configured like that. Then they get annoyed when nobody is buying it...
